About Us
Formed in August 2003, Vsprings provided sports massage on site where and when the athletes needed it for performance and recovery. Vsprings was a mobile massage therapy for the injured in sports and those who needed to recover through alternative therapies.
The founder John Koh, an seriously injured sportsperson in contact sports and extreme lifestyle challenges, set out to form the mobile massage by building up therapists and upgrading the skills of his colleagues with the single mindedness to form teams that are focused on the sports persons who wanted a serious therapy companion in performance and recovery as well as those who wanted to restore balance (distress) in health and regain mental strength at the workplace through massages. (John could not take pain-killers and anti-inflammatory medicines)
By 2006 John has already taught more than 100 students in Anatomy for Massage in various schools and is a qualified trainer and assessor for the National Skills and Recognition System established (now known more as WSQ, to be updated with times and demand)
Jan 2007, Vsprings started its first studio based services in Chinatown, within the premises of AmG Medical and Therapy College (Asia) Pte Ltd. Vsprings’ studio became the place where the athletes and injured workers can meet our therapists regularly to receive massage therapies. It is a place without the frills, that is, no spas facilities and no hotel grade concierge. Vsprings build a rest nest for our sportsmen and work professionals.
The studio also continued the professional training for the therapists to learn the real skills of massotherapy using soft tissue manipulation techniques employed in TCM, Sports Massage, Myofasical Release etc. Trainings are only provided to those who showed dedication and commitment in bodyworks for therapy.
By mid 2008, Vsprings introduced acupuncture into the on site massage events. This was a great welcome by runners at the Adidas Sundown 2008 night marathon. More than 40 runners chose to receive the needles from our locally registered TCM certified acupuncturists from Healthway Medical Group. Uniquely Vsprings!
Today, VMM setup massage stations for sports events and competition in Singapore with 2 teams of 20 therapists each. Each team is led by a leader. The events included those organized by Aviva, Great Eastern, New Balance, Adidas. Other non-sports events included are by organizations by Lions, Rotary, Touch Community etc. All therapists are trained and certified.
